Voices of Tanzania

In September 2007, eight women active in the community and voluntary sector in Ireland travelled to Tanzania as part of an exchange organised by Banúlacht (Women in Ireland in Global Solidarity). The exchange aimed to deepen the understanding between women in Ireland and women in Tanzania, to promote solidarity and to begin to build a long term relationship between women in Ireland and women in the Global South.
This programme follows the women over their two week visit, and attempts to capture their impressions of what they saw and the questions they raised. The exchange was funded by the Development Education Unit of Irish Aid, together with Trocaire and Concern, and the production costs for this programme were funded in part by the BCI Sound and Vision Fund.

Plans are underway to arrange a return visit of a group of Tanzanian women to Ireland. For more information visit www.banulacht.ie
