SESSION C.1 : TRAINER'S NOTES
SCAVENGER HUNT
Objectives:
|
To provide operating experience of portable recorders.
To provide practical experience of interviewing in public
places.
To provide opportunities for teamwork.
To provide space for reflection on recording the life of
a community.
To provide an opportunity to 'Understand' the Community.
|
The above is a wide-ranging set of objectives. Fundamentally,
it sets out to encourage participants to explore their community.
On the way, they also find out more about using recording equipment,
the advantages and problems of working in teams and the optimum
way to interview different people in diverse settings.
You should set them a range of interesting but relevant 'sounds'
to record. That is, a set of tasks that will touch on the objectives
set out above.
Ask the participants to follow the list of sounds requested,
as we will be listening to them in a follow up workshop and it
will help to have a consistent sequence.
Each sound should show a thoughtful, purposeful approach to the
community under review but should also show the participants having
fun and being creative.
