Improving your presentation
and production values.
(A few suggestions from the programming committee)
- Pre-fade all music before broadcast
- Check that your mic and guest mic is working.
- Check the phone level is not too high ( or too low!)
- Know your topic ( nothing worse than sounding flustered
on-air)
- Sign Post other programmes, particularly a similar one to
yours.
- Encourage listeners to tune into other programmes.
- Share information with other programmes. The interview you’ve
just broadcast could be used by another programme.
Avoid the following cliched
phrases..…
“Back after the Ads”….
1. Near fm doesn’t have ads, we have sponsors (very
important for our licence requirements)
2. Back from where ?..…You didn’t leave the studio!
Say nothing, or simply say something like…”after
the break”…
