STUDIO OPERATIONS

1. Please ensure that at all times a log tape is recording while you are operating i.e. On air.

2. Endeavour to pre fade listen (pfl) all material including mics before transmission of any item.

3. Make sure that at all times you are monitoring off tuner while on air.

4. It is vitally important that each operator familiarises himself or herself with the key switch operation. Ensure studio is not switched on during off air times while recording.

5. Remember, when operating the desk on air, to ensure that access to mics and equipment in studio is strictly supervised by yourself.

6. Make sure to sign the Sign-in book. Report any missing equipment or any problems in this book and inform the station supervisor of same.

7. Booking of studios one and two must be requested on the booking form provided in the station. From time to time, the manager may have to alter booked times due to technical or programming needs.

8. Outside Equipment Request for use of the marantz or balancing unit should be make in the request book provided in the station. Ensure machine is charged before removing from station and when leaving it back, place the machine on charge for the next user.

9. Please treat equipment with the utmost care and respect especially the Mini disk players.

10. Be conscious of the quality of audio output. Make sure you are happy with pre-recorded taped material and ensure audio meters do not peak; also set level and remember, if you do not know something or require clarification of any point regarding studio operation, please ask.
